Mom Remembers ’69

Mom and Dad used to wear short shorts of equally risque length back in the day. And when dad got holes in his, she’d embroider daisies over them…even if they were on the crotch. So I showed mom these Life photos from the summer of 1969.

Mom says: “I wore most of the outfits on that site. I loved patterned tights. I had a pair that were wool with green and blue paisley swirls. My Spanish teacher said my legs looked “awful.” She was just sore that she was too old to wear the outfit I had on. [DECADES LATER NEG. GO MOM!] I was into Crazy Horse and Fair Isle sweaters. Sorry I didn’t save some of the clothes. You would have loved them all.”

DANG.

Mom talks about greasers versus baggers.
